AP Lift 475 was chosen for the project because of its industrial strength and ability to compact soil and fill voids to increase load bearing capacity
Procedures
AP Lift 475 was injected six feet deep on four-foot centers with adjoining rows offset two feet. This tight spacing ensured communication between injection points to provide maximum support, stabilize soils, and encapsulate organics. Material was injected at 30 pounds per injection rod. The soil showed signs of lift and fracturing using AP Lift 475 which was an indication that all voids were filled, soils were compacted and the area stabilized to support the design load.
Results
The job took two days to complete and used a total of 3,217 pounds of AP Lift 475 with over 100 injection points. The ability to quickly implement the grouting solution and the tremendous cost saving over a deeper excavation project resulted in the general contractor keeping the project on time and much less of a hit to the construction cost.

Initial Assessment
The pipe exhibited joint leakage and surrounding soil loss, creating voids under pavement and shoulder with settlement risk across the travel path. Traditional open- cut replacement would demand deep shoring, traffic detours, and high restoration costs, making trenchless stabilization preferable. SiteMix Pressure Grouting LLC was called in to do the work.
Proposed Solution
FWe selected AP Lift 475 for hydrophobic chemistry, industrial strength, and rapid set to encapsulate pipe exteriors, seal soil paths, and rebuild bearing capacity with minimal downtime.
- Lay out three rows on 3-foot centers around both barrels.
- Inject at 6 lb per vertical foot to refusal for soil reconsolidation.
- Pull the injection tubing vertically while injecting to form grout columns.
- Encapsulate/seal pipe perimeter and monitor lift response.
- Verify surface support and closure readiness.
- Completed in one day with 1,400 lbs placed; roadway lifted and voids eliminated.
- Zero excavation and minimal traffic disruption during work.
- Approximately 95% cost savings compared to pipe replacement.
Repairing a Footing in a Detention Pond
Repair Materials
To rapidly address the problem, the technicians at SiteMix chose AP Fill 720. This single component, closed cell, hydrophobic, water-reactive, solvent and phthalate-free, low viscosity polyurethane foam has a high expansion rate, and is ideal for filling voids. In this case, AP Fill 720 was the perfect choice for filling the soil voids underneath the footer created by water erosion.
Procedures
First, the crew injected AP Fill 720 along 150 feet of the wall, installing approximately one gallon underneath the footing every two feet. Next, they installed another 75 gallons, spot treating larger voids.
Results
The job was completed in only 2 days. The detention pond wall was ready for use immediately upon completion of the work. The general contractor and the homeowners association manager were very happy with the results.
Repairing a Leak in a Retention Pond

The SiteMix Pressure Grouting crew choose AP Fill 700, a single component, water-activated, hydrophobic, low viscosity, closed-cell polyurethane injection resin for the repair. Specifically, AP Fill 700 is NSF-approved for contact with drinking water, safe for the environment and allows the crew the ability to adjust the catalyst for set time. The polyurethane material is ideal for permeating soil, filling voids and water cutoff.
Procedures
AP Fill 700 was injected on 18-inch centers around the base of the OCS and outlet pipe in order to inject resin into the flow of the piping water. Specifically, the set time of the resin was reduced so that the piping water would take the resin the length of the pipe to the leaking joints. The goal was to have the AP Fill 700 react from downstream back up to the OCS. Crew members observed the pipe joints until AP Fill 700 presented and all the leaks stopped.
Results
The job took one day to complete and less than 50 gallons of resin. Within three days the pond was at full pool and the management company and neighborhood residents were very satisfied with the work. The treatment plant was extremely happy with the results.
